McALESTER —
On Tuesday, 400 head of cattle were sold at the McAlester Union Stockyards.
Winter storm out west causing little receipts this week, according to stockyards report.
Steers weighing less than 550 pounds sold $1 to $4 higher than at the last sale. Steers weighing more than 550 pounds sold $1 to $7 lower than at the last sale. Heifers sold stead at $7 lower than at the last sale.
Consignments are open.
The next Oklahoma Quality Beef Network preconditioned cow and bull sale is Feb. 26.

There were 55 cows and bulls sold at the evening sale Tuesday at McAlester Union Stockyards.
There were not enough packer cows for solid test. Packer bulls sold $6 higher than at the last sale.
High-yielding packer bulls sold from $110 to $111. Average-yielding packer bulls sold from $105 to $109. Low-yielding packer bulls sold from $90 to $99.
High-yielding packer cows sold from $82 to $89. Average-yielding packer cows sold from $77 to $85. Low-yielding packer cows sold from $72 to $81.
A sale is held at the stockyards every Tuesday, with sales of stocker and feeder cattle beginning at 10 a.m. and sales of cows and bulls beginning at 6 p.m.
