• February 2011 (Pittsburg County) — Charged with kidnapping and larceny of automobile. Case pending.
ª October 2009 (Pittsburg County) — Charged with driving with a suspended license. Pleaded guilty and sentencing was deferred for one year.
• September 2009 (Pittsburg County) — Charged with obstructing an officer.  Pleaded guilty and sentencing was deferred for one year.
• September 2006 (Haskell County) — Charged with knowingly concealing stolen property and embezzlement. Pleaded guilty and sentencing was deferred for five years.
• June 2002 (Pittsburg County) — Charged with domestic abuse (assault and battery). Case dismissed without costs.
• April 1998 (Pittsburg County) — Charged with breaking and entering without permission. Pleaded guilty and received a one-year suspended sentence.

Accused kidnapper misses court; arrested

McALESTER — A Crowder man who was charged with kidnapping in Pittsburg County District Court in early 2011 failed to show up for a scheduled court appearance and has been arrested.

Gary Don Hicks Sr., 44, missed his court date and a bench warrant was issued Feb. 1 for his arrest.

In February of 2011, Hicks was charged with kidnapping and larceny of an automobile. According to court records, Hicks allegedly kidnapped Aaron Wells, who was 17 years old at the time. Hicks allegedly shoved Wells into the back seat of his own car and drove the car to an undisclosed location. Wells’ eyes were allegedly covered in duck tape so he couldn’t see where he was being taken.

On Feb. 23, 2011, Hicks posted a $45,000 bond and was released from custody. He was due in court Feb. 1 but did not appear, and his bail was forfeited and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. Hicks was booked into the Pittsburg County Jail Monday and remains in custody in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
