McALESTER — Thanks to Dr.'s Paul and Vickie Thomas, Lakewood Christian Church and the McAlester Area Arts and Humanities Council renowned pianist Peter Simon returned to McAlester for his free show, "The Music and Poetry of Love" at Lakewood on Thursday night.

Simon played classic music by Franz Liszt, Frederic Chopin, Johannes Brahms, and many more. He also recited poetry and prose by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, William Shakespear, Pierre Reverdy, Edgar Allan Poe, scripture from the Bible and much more.

Guests and Simon were offered a reception made possible by the McAlester Area Arts and Humanities Council and CDs were sold for $10.
