McALESTER —
Oklahoma Mission of Mercy kicks off with approximately 700 people waiting at the door at 5 a.m. on Friday at the Southeastern Expo Center and had treated 941 people by the end of the day.
According to Oklahoma Dental Association President, Oklahoma Mission of Mercy event Chairman and local Dentist Dr. Doug Auld, approximately 600 of them waited outside for care over night.
Auld said that the Expo opened up two of the other buildings on site for the people who waited over night to take shelter from the cold in and that there were approximately 300 in each building.
