PITTSBURG COUNTY DISTRICT COURT LOGS

McALESTER — The following felony and misdemeanor cases were decided in Pittsburg County District Court Jan. 23 - 31.

Dispositions include dismissed cases, suspended and deferred sentences and sentences from trials and plea bargains.

Listings do not include all court costs.



Felony cases

• Susan Griffitts, 51, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 27 to eight counts of unlawful purchasing or acquiring pseudoephedrine after a possession of a controlled dangerous substance charge. She was fined $2,400 and sentencing was deferred for seven years on each count.

• Lawrence E. Racine, 47, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 26 to a charge of cultivation of a controlled substance. He was fined $2,800 and sentencing was deferred for two years.

• Maggie Mae Hopkins, 27, Tulsa, pleaded no contest Jan. 24 to charges of child abuse by neglect and public intoxication. She was fined $600 and sentencing was deferred for three years.

• Mary Anne Trevino, 29, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 31 to charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was fined $1,780 and sentencing was deferred for five years.

• Ketha R. Witcher, 47, Oklahoma City, pleaded guilty Jan. 27 to charges of unlawful possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute and bringing contraband (drugs) into a penal institution. She was fined $5,450 and sentencing was deferred for 10 years.

• Justin M. Williamson, 27, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 24 to two counts of larceny of domestic animals. He was fined $2,100 and received a 10-year suspended sentence on each count.

• Deane E. Jones, 18, McAlester, pleaded no contest Jan. 27 to a charge of second degree burglary. He was fined $300, ordered to pay $1,958.02 in restitution and received a seven-year suspended sentence.

• April D. Stanton, 37, Wilburton, pleaded guilty Jan. 27 to charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, larceny of merchandise from a retailer, public intoxication and petit larceny. She was fined $1,820 and sentenced to 10 years, with five years suspended.

• Lindsey D. Kerns, 28, McAlester, pleaded no contest Jan. 26 to a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute. She was fined $1,350 and received a five-year suspended sentence.



Misdemeanor cases

• Rosie Copple, 60, Kiowa, pleaded guilty Jan. 25 to a charge of obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses. She was fined $80, ordered to pay $1,659 in restitution and sentencing was deferred for one year.

• Cheree L. Blevins, 37, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 27 to a charge of driving with a revoked license. She was fined $230 and sentencing was deferred for one year.

• Toniece A. Shelton, 46, Haileyville, pleaded guilty Jan. 30 to a charge of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was fined $635, ordered to use an interlock device for six months, ordered to complete DUI school and sentencing was deferred for one year.

• Toby Ray Cambell, 21, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 30 to a charge of public intoxication. He was fined $130 and sentencing was deferred for 60 days.

• Noah K. Priola, 18, Grand Lake, La., pleaded guilty Jan. 30 to charges of transporting an opened container of beer and public intoxication. He was fined $210 and sentencing was deferred for six months.

• Carlus D. Doggett, 49, Hedrick, Iowa, pleaded guilty Jan. 27 to a reduced charge of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage. He was fined $1,170, ordered to pay $780 in restitution, ordered to complete DUI school, ordered to use an interlock device for 12 months, ordered to complete 480 hours of community service (with 460 hours suspended) and received a one-year suspended sentence. A charge of failure to carry insurance or a security verification form was dismissed.

• Jack L. Gibson, 48, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 25 to a charge of obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses. He was fined $80 and ordered to pay $719 in restitution.

• Raina Ann Kelley, 29, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 31 to charges of larceny of merchandise from a retailer and trespassing after being forbidden. She was fined $560, ordered to stay away from Walmart, ordered to complete treatment at the Oaks Rehabilitation Center and received a one-year suspended sentence.

• Luke A. Homer, 31, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 25 to a charge of public intoxication. He was fined and sentenced to 30 days incarceration.

• Amber Helmert, 27, Wilburton, pleaded guilty Jan. 23 to a charge of trespassing after being forbidden. She was fined $330 and received a six-month suspended sentence.

• Virgil R. Homer, 47, Hartshorne, pleaded guilty Jan. 27 to a charge of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was fined $830, ordered to complete DUI school, ordered to use an interlock device for six months and received a one-year suspended sentence.

• Samuel Walton, 22, McAlester, pleaded guilty Jan. 30 to a charge of driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license. He was fined $550. A charge of failure to carry insurance or a security verification form was dismissed.

• Jerrod J. Scott, 30, Kiowa, pleaded guilty Jan. 30 to a charge of public intoxication. He was fined $130.

• A charge of domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor was dismissed Jan. 27 for Kenneth R. Rice, 52, of McAlester.

• A charge of larceny of merchandise from a retailer was dismissed Jan. 24 for Victor L. Ortiz, 25, of Wilburton.



The following new felony cases were filed in Pittsburg County District Court, from Jan. 25 - 31.



• On Jan. 25, Carl L. Bond Jr., 22, of Hartshorne, was charged with domestic assault and battery by strangulation.

• On Jan. 27, Thurman L. Kenieutubbe, 32, of McAlester, was charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and driving with a revoked license.

• On Jan. 30, Cody J. Pullen, 20, of Tulsa, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug (methamphetamine) with the intent to distribute and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Jan. 30, Nicholas W. Marler, 21, of Tulsa, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug (methamphetamine) with the intent to distribute and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Jan. 30, Andy M. Hyden, 34, of McAlester, was charged with aggravated assault and battery.

• On Jan. 30, Dalton Garner, 18, of McAlester, was charged with knowingly possessing stolen property.

• On Jan. 30, April D. Creekmore, 34, of McAlester, was charged with possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction and reckless conduct with a firearm.

• On Jan. 30, Tabitha M. Penney, 28, of Indianola, was charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, failure to carry insurance or a security verification form and driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license.

• On Jan. 30, Jason D. McKinney, 36, of Kiowa, was charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and transporting an open bottle or container of liquor.

• On Jan. 30, Ronald W. Williams, 15, of Krebs, was charged as an adult with attempted robbery by force or fear under the Youthful Offender act.

• On Jan. 31, Amber Sweet, 22, of McAlester, was charged with manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) within 2,000 feet of public housing, maintaining a place for keeping or selling a controlled substance and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana).
