McALESTER —
An Oklahoma City woman pleaded guilty Jan. 27 in Pittsburg County District Court to bringing drugs into the Oklahoma State Penitentiary.
Ketha Renee Witcher, 47, pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute and bringing contraband drugs into a penal institution.
She was fined $5,350 and judgment and sentencing were deferred for 10 years.
According to court records, Witcher was detained on the morning of Jan. 15 by a correctional officer at OSP for bringing methamphetamine into the prison. The OSP correctional officer found a concealed purple latex glove in Witcher’s possession, according to court records, and that glove contained a white powdery substance, which later tested positive for methamphetamie.
The a phone call seeking comment was not returned to the News-Capital by Witcher by presstime today.
