McALESTER —
The McAlester News-Capital has launched its newest product, a digital version of each publication of the entire newspaper.
The electronic edition of our daily paper, SmartEdition, offers galleries of ads and photos, classifieds and full-length news stories, all in the form of electronic pages that look just like the pages of our print edition. Comics, features and everything else published in our print product is now available digitally for those readers who prefer their news by iPhone, iPad, Kindle or other computer device.
“I am so excited,” Publisher Amy Johns said Friday of the News-Capital’s new SmartEdition. “This has been in the works for several months and I’m happy our readers will now be able to subscribe to our product digitally.”
A one-week free trial period is being offered for our readers — sign up on our home page at www.mcalesternews.com (the SmartEdition button is on the top of the left side of the page). Subscription rates range from $1.50 per edition to $4.75 for a month to $50 for a year of hometown news, accessible daily from via computer or handheld devices.
