Turner takes District 3 Board of Ed. seat!

McALESTER — Recently, the McAlester Public School Board of Education held a special meeting where members voted in David Turner to replace Anne Walker as its District 3 member.

Turner said what he wants most from being a board of education member is to be a role model for children. He said children so often find heroes in inaccessible people like Jay-Z and other stars, but do not find heroes they can look up to in their own community. He wants to be a person they can see and watch doing good things in the community and be accessible to them.
