McALESTER —
In June, the McAlester Public School Board of Education began reveiwing bids for roof work to McAlester High School and Puterbaugh Middle school.
July 1, work went underway. MPS business manager Brent Grilliot said the initial Puterbaugh Middle School roofing project is finished and now a sloped metal roof is beinf installed.
McAlester Public Schools Superintendent Marsha Gore said not only will the roof work better, but will look good too.
Grilliot said that the repairs are still ongoing at the high school and a small roofing project has now began at Jefferson Early Childhood Center.
Distict wide restrooms in need have received restoration. Four of those restrooms were at the high school.
MPS Public Relations Specialist Debbie Watkins said much painting has been done to varies schools with the help of personel, contractors and volunteers.
