McALESTER —
A Kiowa man was recently accused of making methamphetamine.
Robert T. Swims, 45, was charged Monday in Pittsburg County District Court with manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) within 2,000 feet of a school and maintaining a place for keeping /selling controlled substances.
According to court records, police were investigating a burglary when they came in contact with Swims. Their investigation led to obtaining a warrant for Swims home in Kiowa, a police affidavit states.
When searching Swims home, authorities allegedly found numerous items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Swims is in custody at the Pittsburg County jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond and was unavailable for comment at presstime. He is due in court Friday at 9 a.m. to face charges.
