All Saints' Episcopal to hold craft and chocolate sale

Give your sweetheart the perfect gift — one that gives back

McALESTER — The men and women of All Saints’ Episcopal Church are hand-crafting goodies and gifts for the community to purchase for a loved one this Valentine’s Day.

The Episcopal Church Women have organized a chocolate and craft sale on Saturday to help raise funds for All Saints’.

Judy Goodyear, a member of the church’s ECW group, explained how the money “goes back to various charitable, local organizations through the church.”

The ECW president Christina Thurber has made flyers to be handed out to various businesses in the community to help remind everyone of the opportunity to shop at the holiday sale.

Thurber said All Saints’ will host local award-winning author Tammy Hinton, a member of the Oklahoma Writers Federation, Inc., Women Writing the West and the McAlester McSherry Writers Guild. She also belongs to the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Oklahoma Genealogical Society’s First Families of the Twin Territories.

The sale will be set up in the parish hall of All Saints’ at 325 E. Washington Ave. in McAlester. The ECW recommends parking near the north entrance of the church and to enter using the north doors. Through the north doors, the parish hall is to the right and down the end of hall.

The sale is open to the public, and will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and will close at 2 p.m.
