McALESTER —
The Pittsburg County Free Fair continued through Saturday and had lots of activities for people of all ages to enjoy. The weather was fair, with high temperatures in the mid-80s, and the Expo Center and fairgrounds were teeming with people.
Zoe Boatright, 9, of Kiowa, has been part of 4-H since she was 3 years old. “I’ve been a Cloverbud all these years and this is my first year as a Junior and I’m so excited,” she said Friday morning while tending to her goats.
Boatright was looking forward to showing her two goats and a rabbit later that day. “That’s my favorite part,” she said.
In previous years, Boatright had entered her animals in the open class competitions.
Anyone interested in becoming a 4-H member can contact Greg Owen or Mike Carter at 918-423-4120 or visit www.oces.okstate.edu/pittsburg.
