Pittsburg County: Ministry gives police vests to sheriff’s department

When members of the newly-formed Pittsburg County Sheriff’s SWAT Team go into the field, they will have some extra protection — thanks to the Armor of God.

Ten-Four Ministries, headed by Tulsa Police Capt. Travis Yates, delivered nine heavy tactical vests and two ballistic shields to the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Department this week.

The equipment could be the only thing standing between an officer and bullets fired from an offender’s gun.

Yates delivered the equipment through the Armor of God project, through which badly-needed equipment is delivered at no charge to law enforcement departments which would not be able to afford it otherwise.
