McALESTER —
The Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church of McAlester will host a gospel singing convention Nov. 10.
The Oklahoma Eastern Half Gospel Singing Convention is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 11 miles north of McAlester on State Highway 113, at 1150 Shady Grove Road.
The convention includes a noon potluck.

Tornado warning has expired for Pittsburg County. Severe thunderstorm warning extended until 9 p.m. However tornado watch has been extended until 3 a.m., according to McAlester/Pittsburg County Emergency Management Director Trent Myers.

Tornadoes and severe weather have torn through a large part of Oklahoma today (May 20,2013) and have devastated Moore south of Oklahoma City hitting two schools and Moore's hospital.
Severe weather is possible for Pittsburg County and is under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. this evening.
