Car chase ends at Country Club

McALESTER — A car chase Friday resulted in approximately100 feet of damage to the Country Club’s chainlink fence located on the west side that runs parellel with 14th Street.

On Friday, at 11:11 p.m., vehicle driven by Jacob Wilkinson, 20, of Alderson ran a stop at D Street and Seminole Avenue in McAlester, according to Det. Capt. Gary Wansick.

When McAlester police attempted to stop Wilkinson, Wansick said, Wilkinson allegedly accelerated  to high rate of speed in an attempted to elude the police officer.

Wansick said high speed pursuit began, and then a second unit responded.

He said Wilkinson, allegedly, made many turns throughout the south side of McAlester until he turned into the Country Club parking lot and drove west onto the gulf course driving range lanes.

Allegedly, that is where Wilkinson’s vehicle became stuck in a ditch and where he was apprehended, allegedly resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer, Wansick said.

Wansick said Wilkinson allegedly destroyed a fence at the Country Club, before resting in the ditch along side 14th Street.
