McALESTER — David Menges, of McAlester, brings his snake, Sunni, to visit his veterinarian Friday morning at Renegar Animal Hospital. Menges said Sunni, an albino Burmese python, had developed a respiratory infection after it got too cold and began drooling and “making funning noises.” Menges said larger snakes are more susceptible to cold weather than smaller snakes.

Killer set to die today

Fire hydrants in store for Shady Grove
An agreement signed Monday between the Shady Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Rural Water District 9 will allow the installation of fire hydrants on water lines in the Shady Grove area.
