McALESTER —
A McAlester woman was injured in a car accident and life-flighted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Danielle Beverly Stasiak, 22, was driving a 2006 Toyota on Tuesday at approximately 6:30 p.m., according to the report. She was traveling northbound on State Highway 113 when her vehicle departed the roadway to the right. The vehicle “vaulted and rolled,” the report states, and then it came to rest on its wheels.
Stasiak was transported by medical helicopter to Tulsa and was listed in guarded condition with multiple injuries, the report states.
Stasiak’s father, McAlester City Manager Pete Stasiak, said Thursday that he was by his daughter’s bedside in the Intensive Care Unit and that she was in stable condition.
The accident was investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Sean Mass, of the Pittsburg County detachment. His report indicates that Danielle Stasiak was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred. His report also indicates that she was under the influence of alcohol. Mass attributes the cause of the accident to driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding.
