Three young children found in meth lab house on Delaware Ave. in McAlester

McALESTER — Three young children were found by authorities in an alleged methamphetamine house on East Delaware Avenue in McAlester.

On Jan. 15, agents with the District 18 Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at a home in the 800 block of East Delaware Avenue in McAlester, according to court records.

Upon securing the residence, agents found four adults and three children in the living room of the home, a police affidavit states. Agents also found multiple firearms, ammunition, a methamphetamine lab, marijuana and numerous other items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

The four adults — two couples, and parents of the children — were arrested and the young children, a 3-year-old girl, a 1-year-old girl and a 1-year old boy, were taken into custody by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.

Randy and Sarah Cartlidge, the parents of the two girls, were both arrested and charged along side Jeremiah Jones and Brianna Bray, the parents of the young boy. All four adults and three children were allegedly residing in the McAlester home.

Randy Cartlidge, 25; Sarah Cartlidge, 21; Jones, 22; and Bray, 20, were all charged with multiple drug-related felonies.

Randy Cartlidge was charged with manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) within 2,000 feet of a school, maintaining a place for keeping and selling controlled substances and possession of firearms after conviction or during probation. He was also charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jones was charged with manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) within 2,000 feet of a school, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and maintaining a place for keeping and selling controlled substances. He was also charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sarah Cartlidge and Bray were both charged with maintaining a place for keeping and selling controlled substances, possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school or park and possessing and furnishing a precursor substance. They were also charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Randy Cartlidge and Jones are facing up to life in prison if convicted. Sarah Cartlidge and Bray are also facing multiple years imprisonment if convicted.

All four defendants are due back in court Jan. 25 to face charges.
