McALESTER — Sheila Anderson, foreground, and Leticia Avila, vie for votes in a costume contest Wednesday at their McAlester office at the Department of Human Services. Anderson, sported a black veil and brought a crawling tarantula as part of her “black widow” character, while Avila was a vampire. Avila proved to be the crowd favorite, winning a gift certificate in the contest.
