Vic Wheeler, assistant vice president at First National Bank & Trust in McAlester, has been named an “Honors Graduate” of the 2009 Oklahoma Bankers Association Intermediate School.
Wheeler was set to receive a plaque today at First National Bank in McAlester. Janis Reeser, EVP of Education at the OBA, will present the award.
Wheeler was selected for the Intermediate School honor based on his outstanding work on the school’s exam and his contributions and participation in class. He was chosen by the school’s regents, staff, faculty and students.
Wheeler was among 29 students who attended the school at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. The OBA Intermediate School, conducted annually, prepares junior to mid-level bank officers, and future officers, to serve effectively the needs of their banks and consumers. The school exposes students to a broad range of banking functions and issues, including: economics, marketing, lending, investments, trust services, compliance and legal issues, bank financial analysis, ethics, human resource management, communications, strategic planning, regulatory examinations and asset/liability management.
