McALESTER — By Lonnie Lu Anderson, Crowder
Tea Party represents ‘We the people’
The Tea Party is getting blamed for our economic crisis and being demonized by more and more politicians on both sides of the aisles. How can it be our fault when we support our founders’ principles of the Constitution, believe in limited federal government, state’s rights, individual liberty, personal responsibility and free markets?
Those accusers need to take a look at their calendars. The economic crisis arose before the Tea Party showed up. The Tea Party arose because of the economic problems.
There has been a constant barrage of hate and lies directed toward the Tea Party. It’s time to stand up to the bullies in the establishment and say, “Regardless of what you say or do, ‘We the People’ are not going away. You work for us. You think November 2010 was bad, wait til November 2012.”
We come in all ages, income levels and colors. We are Democrats, Republicans, independents and Libertarians who are concerned where our country is going and we are just exercising our First Amendment rights.
