Editor:
I am writing this in response to all of the corruption that is obviously still apparent in some of our county elected officials. It is a sad state when Pittsburg County is known all around the state for the corruption in our county elected officials.
When you tell people from around the state where you are from, they always make comments about the McAlester Mafia.
It seems to me that some of our county commissioners think that they are above the law and don’t have to obey the rules.
If it had not been for this newspaper raising questions about the secret meeting, they would have thumbed their nose at the laws and proceeded with their meeting as scheduled.
Is there a protocol to follow to get corrupt officials put out of office? If there is, we should do everything that we can to get them removed.
In my opinion we need to clean house. Let me know if there is a way to get them removed and I will start the ball rolling, passing petitions or whatever I can do. I am sick of the black eye that Pittsburg County has and we need to do what is necessary to repair our image as soon as possible.

Letter to the Editor: What about other beliefs?
To post the phrase “In God We Trust” in the county courthouse excludes all Pittsburg County residents who don’t believe in a god or who believe in many gods.
