Editor:
Some may have called him a liberal. Some may have called him a radical.
I called him a humanitarian.
His concerns were without political preference; his concerns were for the everyday working American; his concerns were to help, not hinder, the human condition.
School lunch programs, the Americans with Disabilities Act, civil rights legislation, women's rights, COBRA (not losing your insurance when you switch jobs), Meals On Wheels, nuclear disarmament, minimum wage and community free clinics are but a very few of the legislative laws he sponsored. He often said what he wanted was liberty, justice and health care for all.
Ted Kennedy was not a saint, but as a senator, he was my hero.
