Letter to the editor: The details on Crowder's school bond issue

CROWDER — Crowder Public Schools is looking to pass a proposed no tax increase $200,000 building bond issue on Tuesday, Feb. 14. The official language of the bond issue states: “to renovate, repair and/or remodel district-wide, to include, but not limited to: drainage system, doors and door hardware, sidewalks, bathrooms, awnings, special needs equipment and hall walls.”

A more specific breakdown of each item is listed below:

• Drainage System: Crowder Public Schools has a severe drainage problem between the main building and outbuildings. Every time it rains, students have to walk through huge water areas to get to class. The solution is to first build up the areas with dirt work and then add a major drainage system for excess water. There is also a drainage problem in the front of the main building that will be addressed with dirt work and drainage system.

If there are any questions concerning the Crowder Public Schools building bond issue please call 918-334-3203 or go to the school website at www.crowder.k12.ok.us.

Editor’s note: Jeff Funk is the superintendent of Crowder Public Schools.
