BREAKING NEWS: Swine flu vaccine authorized for general public
It’s finally time.
The Pittsburg County Health Department announced near noon today that vaccinations for the Influenza A H1N1 swine virus are available to anyone who wants one at the Pittsburg County Health Department.
“Anyone who wants to reduce the risk of getting the H1N1 influenza is now eligible receive the H1N1 vaccine,” said Pittsburg County Health Department Administrator Mike Echelle.
To get one of the Influenza H1N1 vaccinations simply stop by the Pittsburg County Health Department during regular business hours, Echelle said.
The health department does not charge individuals for the vaccinations.
“We will continue to emphasize the importance of vaccinations for priority groups, including women and children,” said Echelle.
The health department is at 1400 E. College Ave., across Strong Boulevard from the McAlester Regional Health Center.
Hours are from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
