The musical acts may include vocal, instrumental, or combination. The dramatic acts may include plays or readings, either humorous or serious. Each member may enter one solo act, one small group act and one large group act.

The acts can be up to six minutes from the time the curtains open until they close. Every act is allowed two minutes to set up props and two minutes to tear down props. Acts must have self-standing props if using props. No paint is allowed on the stage. The acts must clean up after themselves and have all necessary supplies to clean up. All props must be furnished by the act with the exception of a piano. Acts must be in the holding area when called.

This contest is set for Dec. 5 at Kiowa School in the auditorium. Check in is at 9 a.m. and the contest will start at 9:30 a.m. All grand champion winners of this event will qualify to compete at the Southeast District Contest to be held later in the 4-H program year on a date and at a location to be announced. Winners of the district contest will qualify to enter at State 4-H Share the Fun to be held at State 4-H Roundup during the summer of 2010.

The second contest to be held in December is a new contest for Pittsburg County based around 4-H technology. This contest is open to all age groups in 4-H. Members may enter these exhibits in the 2010 Pittsburg County Fair, but 2009 county fair exhibits may not be entered. Entries for this contest are due in the Extension office by Dec. 8 by 5 p.m. Categories for this contest include a digitally altered photo or photographic illustration; a digitally altered scanned image; a flat flyer; a brochure, card or invitation related to 4-H; a web page designed by the exhibitor for their 4-H club, Extension office, county 4-H program or their own personal home page that includes content related to 4-H; and a power-point presentation related to 4-H.
