Casual Gourmet enjoyed “Italy in the Fall” at Dolores Miller’s home Tuesday.
The living room and adjacent family room were decorated with attention-grabbing red, yellow and orange fall floral arrangements on each table. An indoor waterfall added a peaceful background for the business meeting conducted by Director Karen Stobaugh.
Nancy Gates called the roll, gave the treasurer’s report and collected dues. Judy Goodyear gave the Sunshine report and Stobaugh reminded members of the Fall Brunch Oct. 23 at All Saints’ Episcopal Church with Cornerstone Creations hosting the meeting. Casual Gourmet was in charge of the “Pie Walk.”
Dot Thompson announced boxes for men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan will be mailed after names are submitted to Kim Mansour. Further questions about the project can be answered by calling Mansour at 423-8087 or 329-1145. Thompson reported the District Southeast Convention held at the Meeting Place was a success. Margaret Fields was nominated and accepted as a new member. Goodyear introduced guests Amy Johns and Kandra Wells.
November’s meeting will be hosted by Susan Kanard, Janice Clinkenbeard Barrier and Anne Otis. The theme will be “All American Thanksgiving.”
The business meeting concluded when the aroma of simmering Italian soup as co-hostesses Dolores Miller, Linda Miller, Vickie Caluette, Mary Caluette and Sue Miller served soup accompanied by fresh salad with vinaigrette and homemade bread. Italian Creme Cake with coffee and tea topped off the lunch. Other members attending were Janis Allford, Judy Anderson, Sherry Brumley, Kay Grumbine, Kanard, Cecilia McMahan and Ada Nell Ward.
