Victor Wight enjoys the challenge

McALESTER — Victor Wight was born in Thailand. Within a year, his family moved to Buffalo Valley, Oh., to be with his dad’s extended family, and then moved to McAlester before Wight’s second-grade year.

Now a senior at McAlester High School, Wight has found home here in McAlester. Football, Wight said Tuesday, has been one of the keys to building that feeling of community.

“The town is supportive of you,” Wight said. “It’s good to see all the fans cheering you on and into it. I’m going to miss it.”
