Laura Brooke Nelson and Andrew Steven Bush, Oklahoma City, were united in marriage at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City on July 25, 2009, in an evening ceremony. The Rev. Marty Grubbs and the Rev. R.N. McClure, grandfather of the groom, officiated, with Heather Beard, Oklahoma City, reading scripture.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Holland, Oklahoma City, and Mr. Lantie Nelson, Tulsa. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randell Ward, McAlester; Mrs. JoAnna Nelson, Sand Springs; and Mrs. Betty Holland, Indianola, Miss. She graduated from Edmond Memorial High School, then earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Oklahoma State University, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She is a first grade teacher at Crossings Christian School.
The groom is the son of the late Bobby Bush, of Sapulpa, and Mr. and Mrs. Randy Wesson, Hugo. He is the grandson of Mr. Bob Bush, Sapulpa, and Mr. and Mrs. R.N. McClure, Hugo. He is a graduate of Sapulpa High School and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and majored in Finance. He is a business development representative at Mustang Gas Products, LLC.
The bride was escorted by her father while musicians George Skranmstad, pianist/violinist, and vocalists Kim Scrubbs, Marty Scrubbs and Ron Townsdin performed various selections.
Ashley Nelson and Emily Holland, both of Oklahoma City and sisters of the bride, served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Beki Jackson, Stillwater; Emily Minyen, Coppell, Texas; and Jillian Russell, Oklahoma City. Cousins of the bride Kendall Brumley, Stillwater; Randi Cowan, Sand Springs; Evan Grippando, Stillwater; and Bre Russell, Oklahoma City, served as honorary bridesmaids.
Brothers of the groom Jason Bush and Nick Bush, Sapulpa, were the best men. Groomsmen were Billy Epperson, Conoco, Va.; Beau Johnson, Plano, Texas; and Arron Webb, Sapulpa. Ushers were Hayden Brumley, Oklahoma City; Jordan Grippando, McAlester, cousins of the bride; and Steve Upton, Sapulpa, friend of the groom.
Maryn Beard, Oklahoma City, was the flower girl, and Jarek Webb, Sapulpa, was the ring bearer.
Taryn Grippando, McAlester, served as the guest book attendant.
Folowing a honeymoon trip to Key West, Fla., the couple made its home in Edmond.
