Jessie Adam dies at 97

McALESTER — Jessie Adam, 97, of McAlester, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Solara Hospital in Shawnee.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Bishop Funeral Home

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Stuart Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart. Kelley Benson and Danny Lawrence will officiate.

Arrangements are under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Jessie was born on Nov. 12, 1915, in Dustin to Thomas and Kate Mason. She attended schools in Dustin and graduated from Dustin High School. She then attended college in Lawton. She married Herman Ernest Adam on June 12, 1934. She worked at The United States Army Ammunitions Depot and was the coordinator for the Stuart Senior Citizens for serveral years. Jessie was a longtime member of the Stuart Church of Christ.

He was survive by two daughters Judy Ada, of Stuart, Dody and Roger Davis, of Stuart; five grandchildren, Erica Smith, Tracy Adam, Todd Adam, Larry Davis and Wade Davis; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ernie Adam and Johnny Adam; grandson, Kent Davis; two brothers, Lars Mason and Loren Mason; and two sisters, Iva Bell and Floy Atterberry.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers the family ask that donation be made to The Pryor Cemetery, P.O. Box 174, Stuart, OK 74570.
