McALESTER — Doris Holt, 88, of McAlester, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at her residence.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church in McAlester, officiated by the Rev. Jerry Burnside.

Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Born on April 20, 1924, in Burns Flat, she was the daughter of Willie and Lizzy Stone Brown. She attended school at Dill City.

She married Conard Holt on Oct. 7, 1941, in Bishop, Calif.

Her husband was an oil contractor for 50 years and she was a homemaker during that time.

They lived in California for 55 years before moving from Bakersfield to McAlester in 1998.

She was involved in Teen Challenge and jail ministries while they lived in California.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, McAlester.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Mary Holt, of West Linn, Ore., and Steve and Wyleen Holt, of Adamson; five grandchildren, Gary Holt, Christine Holt, Chuck Holt Rogers, Ginger Richards and Maggie Holt.

And, great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jillian Rogers, Cole Alan Richards and Alex Richards; one brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Veda Brown, of Burns Flat; friend, Nancy Paxton, of Hartshorne and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Conard; one grandson, Willie Holt; and three sisters, Pauline Dawson, Billie Petty and Peggy Cook.

Active pallbearers will be, Glenn Cook, Gary Mabee, Casey Richards, Chuck Rogers, Charles Holt and Gary Holt.
