Richard A. Dean, 74, of McAlester, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Yale Church of God in Yale, officiated by the Rev. Michael Clark.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, in Stillwater.
Funeral services are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Born Feb. 18, 1938, in Yale, he was the son of Frank Wilham and Elmina Lynch Dean. He attended schools in Yale. He lived in Yale and Oregon and several places all over the United States. He worked on an oil derrick in Drumwright and drove a truck for the local Dr. Pepper distributor. He later became a self-employed brick layer and worked on many of the buildings on the Oklahoma State University campus. He retired when he was 55. He was a member of the Yale Church of God.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Linda and Jim Hurst, of Athens, Pa., Rosalie and David Boggs, of Oolagah, Rick and Athena Dean, of Tulsa, and Bobby Stimits, of Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Ferlan and Yvonne Dean, of Yale; sister, Marie Blackwell, of Manford; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daugher, Kimberly Eslick; sister, Mary Lou Roberts; and grandson, Kye Thompson.
Pallbearers will be, Gary Hammock, Orvil Akins, Darin Dean, Kevin Dean, Jon Cooper and Bill Thompson.
Honorary pallbearer is Scotty Stutzman.
