Aaron D. “Boots” Crandell

McALESTER — Aaron D. “Boots” Crandell, 71, of Noble, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Norman Regional Hospital, Norman.

The family will receive visitors from 3 to 5 p.m. on today at Bishop Funeral Service.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Bishop Chapel of Memories, officiated by the Rev. Bill Kirk. Interment will follow at Ulan Cemetery, Ulan.

Funeral services are under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Born May 15, 1941, in Scipio, he was the son of Dr. D. and Delours Loretta Tollison Crandell. He attended Indianola Public Schools. He married Sue Epps on May 31, 1963, and built a home in McAlester. Seven years later, in 1972, he and his wife moved to Oklahoma City with their daughter and made Noble their home for the next 40 years.

He was a carpenter by trade and was employed by Barbour and Short Construction as a superintendent for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and for many years, he participated in team roping.

He is survived his wife Sue, of the home; daughter, Kathleen Kester; three  granddaughters, Ashlee, Shelby, and Cheyenne Kester and three great-grandchildren, Dillon, Brooklyn, and Madalynn Kester, all of Noble. Other survivors include four sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Bill Kirk, of McAlester; Louise Cooter, of McAlester; Sue Buff, of McAlester; Joann and John Brown, of Kiowa; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Eula Crandell, of Calif ; two brothers-in-law, Roy Epps and Larry Rowell; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Kay Fish and Joyce Bonetti; and one brother, Jerry Crandell.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stuffelbean, Bruce Jones, Kevin Broyles, Phil Boeskin, Dean Snively, Leland Cline, Mike Manos, Dave Grantham, Charles Kester, Jimmy Rollins.  Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Cox, Jessie Hammons, Larry Rowell, and Ron Streun.
