McALESTER —
Mary Lou (Poole) Crone, 76, of McAlester, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at a local nursing center.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tannehill Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Steve Mayhew and the Rev. Bill Kirk officiating. Burial will be at Tannehill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
Born April 6, 1936, in Tannehill, she was the daughter of Barnett “Barney” and Ella (Cobb) Poole. She married Franklin M. Crone on Aug. 31, 1956, in Tannehill.
Her husband was in the United States Air Force and they traveled extensively and lived in several parts of the country until her husband’s retirement in 1981, after 26 years of service.
They moved back to Oklahoma and lived in Arpelar for 28 years, then moved to McAlester.
She enjoyed traveling, quilting, sewing, music and spending time with her family and friends. She was a housewife and a member of McAlester First Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed missionary work in Mexico with her church.
Survivors include her daughters, Dawn R. Crone-Rasmussen and husband, Aaron, of Arpelar, and Twyla A. Crone, of McAlester; brother, Charles Poole and wife, Ida Mae, of McAlester; sister, Bonna Brown and husband, Kenneth, of Tulsa; sister-in-law, Anita Poole, Killeen, Texas.
Also, daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Ramsey-Crone, Buckeye, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Beverly Yohn and husband, Rick, of McAlester; six grandchildren, Christopher Blasengame and wife, Amanda, of Arizona, Jeromy Crone and wife, Meghan, of McAlester, Franklin Crone, Jordan Crone, Drake Crone and wife, Lauren, and Kayla Crone, all of Arizona.
And, eight great-grandchildren, Christopher Crone, Tegan Crone, Madison Crone, Kaia Crone, Rayland Crone, Brianna Blasengame, Lily Blasengame and Kayle Hoeppner-Crone, and five nephews, Mark Brown, Brent Brown and Jason Brown, all of Tulsa, Mickey Poole, of West Virginia, and Rudy Poole, of Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin M. Crone; a son, Franklin L. Crone; her parents, Barnett “Barney” Poole and Ella (Cobb) Poole, and two brothers, Haskell Poole and Howard Poole.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Blasengame, Jeromy Crone, Jack Mouser and Randy Crone.
Memorials may be made to the Mexico Mission fund of the First Free Will Baptist Church.
