McALESTER — Cheryl Ann Guzman, 49, of McAlester, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at her home in McAlester.

Memorial services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of McAlester with Dr. Tim Russell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

She was born Jan. 5, 1963, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Richard and Delores Denton. She grew up in California to the age of 16 then moved to North Carolina. She lived in North Carolina, California and Colorado until she moved to McAlester in 2004. She had earned her A&P license as an aircraft maintenance technician and consequently worked in that field for a while. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester where she enjoyed doing volunteer work.

Survivors include daughter, Michelle Guzman, of North Carolina; son, Richard Guzman, of Krebs; grandchildren, Naveha Guzman and Natalia Hill; parents, Richard Denton, of Snow, Delores Denton, of North Carolina; brother, Jeff Denton, of North Carolina; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
