Doris E. Coffee dies at 81

McALESTER — Doris E. Coffee, 81, of McAlester, formerly of Indianola, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in McAlester.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Red Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Nov. 6, 1931, in Indianola, she was the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Goodwyn) West. She was raised in Indianola and was a graduate of Indianola High School in 1949. She married D.W. Coffee on June 3, 1949, in McAlester. After marriage she continued to reside at Indianola. The family was engaged in farming and ranching for many years, moving to McAlester in 1973 at retirement.

She had worked for many years outside the home, at Seamprufe, PSO and for the City of McAlester. Her last employment was for Indianola Public Schools.

She was a faithful member of the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, D.W. (Willie) Coffee, of the home in McAlester; one son, Keith Coffee and wife, Kay, of McAlester; one grandson, Jason Coffee and wife, Jackie, of McAlester; one granddaughter, Jennifer Heinicke and husband, Mike, of McAlester.

Also, four great-grandchildren, Taylor Coffee, Tanner Coffee, Keaton Lozano and Case Heinicke; three sisters, Marjorie Barringer, Fort Smith, Ark., Anita Fink, Atwater, Calif., and Mary Weddle, of Longtown; one sister-in-law, Janie West, of the Ulan Community, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerrell West, and brother-in-law, Newman Fink.
