Vicki Juanita Channel-Brown dies at 63

McALESTER — Vicki Juanita Channel-Brown, 63, of McAlester, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at her home.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bishop Chapel of Memories.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ash Creek Union Church with the Rev. Richard Crook officiating. Burial will be at Ash Creek Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Bremerton, Wash., she was the daughter of Johnny Leavern and Billye Juanita (Minyard) Kuykendall. She graduated from Henderson High School in Henderson, Texas in 1967.

She married Terry Channel on July 6, 1968, and he preceded her in death in 1985. She worked as a clerk in retail. She married Kevin Brown in April 1988 in McAlester.

She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her husband, Kevin Brown, of the home; daughters, Mickie Channel, Kilgore, Texas, LeAnn Griffin and husband, Jack, of Crowder, and Robin Channel, of Canadian; son, Jeff Channel and wife, Patrice, of Krebs.

Also, grandchildren, Chance Stone and wife, Jacqueline, Ben Wheeler, Texas, Chad Stone and wife, Samantha, Tyler, Texas, Danielle Proe and husband, Michael, of Crowder, Clayton Griffin, of McAlester, Greyson Bears, of Coalgate, Allye Channel, of McAlester, and Laurel Wilson, of Krebs.

And, great-grandchildren, Lily Rumbeleow, Riley Yates, Lucy Stone, Paisley Proe and Rocky Trace Stone; brothers and sisters, Ronald Kuykendall and wife, Margaret, of Bristow, Keith Kuykendall, Henderson, Texas, Dennis Kuykendall and wife, Kathy, Houston, Texas, Pamela Jones, San Antonio, Texas, and Tony Kuykendall, of McAlester, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousin, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Billye Kuykendall; her first husband and children’s father, Terry Mack Channel; grandson, Kristopher Channel, and a sister, Terrie Ladd.

Pallbearers will be Chance Stone, Chad Stone, Clayton Griffin, Steffan Kuykendall, Harold Hearod and Bill Hearod.

Honorary pallbearer will be Greyson Bears.
