Generro “G” Sanchez of Stuart, OK died Thursday, December 6, 2012 in Asher, OK at the age of 18.
Generro was born August 7, 1994 to Marcos Sanchez and Jeana Waldrip in McAlester, OK. He grew up in Stuart and graduated from Stuart High School with the Class of 2012. In the 8th grade the teachers and staff nominated Generro into the book Who’s Who in academic achievement. He was currently a freshman at East Central University, Ada, OK. Generro was honored by East Central University, Seminole State College and First United Bank and Trust as a 2012 Oklahoma Top Male Senior Class Leader. He was a Seminole State College Dean’s Scholarship, an East Central University Foundation Scholarship and a 2012 Stuart Alumni Scholarship. “G”was an honor roll student, was a member of the Quiz Bowl Team and was awarded numerous awards and medals for scholastics.
“G” loved his family, friends and life. He was a very outgoing fun, loving guy and full of life. He had so many hopes and dreams and was determined to make a difference. “G” enjoyed going to the movies, especially movie time with his Dad and listening to music. Johnny Bravo was his hero. He would spend at least one night a week with his Nonnie. He enjoyed watching ballgames with the Harris’ but hated feeding the cows.
He is survived by his mother, Jeana West and husband, Billy, of Stuart; father, Marcos Sanchez and Cheryl Scott, of McAlester; sister, Samantha Roberts, of McAlester; niece, Kyli Swing; maternal grandmother, Ravenna Waldrip, of Stuart; step brothers, Bryan West and wife, Sheila, of Okmulgee, and Damien West and wife, Rachel, of Muskogee; step sisters, Lacrisha Johnson and husband, Joseph, of McAlester and Treasure West, of Okmulgee; step nephews and nieces, Boston and Zane West, Haiden West; Aidyn and Beyonka Johnson; uncles, Gary Weeks and wife, Sabrina, of Poteau, and Robert Waldrip and wife, Christy, of McCurtain, and a host of aunts, uncles and other family and friends.
Generro was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Robert Ferris; paternal grandmother, Virginia Salazar Sanchez and paternal grandfather, Eduardo Carrilo Sanchez; great-grandparents, Bud and Opal Horton; great-grandmother, Paulita Sanchez; great-aunt, Irma Rodriguez; and a cousin, Gary Lynn Weeks, Jr.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester, OK.
The Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at the Harold Lasiter Gymnasium, Stuart, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at White Chimney Cemetery, Stuart, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Michah Emmery, Zach Mabry, Bo Mabry, Kyle Harris, Colton Harris, William “Tell” Jordan, Johnny Watkins, Jessie Belvin and Colten Chapman.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Bryan West, Damien West and Joseph Johnson.
Donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Generro Sanchez at The Bank N.A.
