Rocklyn Irene ‘Rocky’ Lenardo

McALESTER — Rocklyn Irene “Rocky” Lenardo, 91, of McAlester, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at her home near McAlester.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Deacon Bill Anderson officiating.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church in McAlester with Father Leonard Higgins officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Feb. 4, 1921, in Krebs, she was the daughter of Pete and Lucy (Ross) Dominic. She grew up in Krebs where she attended school at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

She married Marion Lenardo on Aug. 27, 1950, in Krebs, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She worked as the bookkeeper at the family business, Southern Supply, from 1983 till her retirement in 1995. She had previously worked at Woolworth’s Department Store in McAlester.

She was a longtime member of Harrison-Powers American Legion Post 79 Auxiliary, where she held many offices over the years. She was also a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church in McAlester.

Survivors include her husband, Marion Lenardo, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mark Parham, of McAlester; one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Karie Lenardo, of McAlester.

Also, six grandchildren, Chris Lenardo, Brad Lenardo, Justin Barnes, Angela Freshour, Desi Moody, and Levi Parham and his wife, April.

And, five great-grandchildren, Eythan Lenardo, Christen Lenardo, Isaac Moody, Caleb Whitfield and Juniper Parham; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sam Magdalena, of Krebs, Marie Dominic, of Krebs, and Helen Lenardo, of McAlester, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Stella Magdalena and Mary DeJacimo, and two brothers, Ricky Dominic and Jim Dominic.

Pallbearers will be Roy Lenardo, Warren McCullar, Brad Lenardo, Chris Lenardo, Justin Barnes and Sammy Magdalena.
