Two Wilburton High School seniors were recognized as Students of the Month for April by members of the Wilburton Kiwanis Club. Josh Hunnicutt, left and Hanna Mooney. The students were special guests during the club’s Wednesday, April 18 meeting held in the Student Life Center on the campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. Hanna Mooney is the daughter of Meaghan Mooney and granddaughter of Maryellen and Mike Mooney. She attends Wilburton High School where she is a member of the Lady Digger basketball team, cheerleading squad, Spanish club, FBLA, speech club and National Honor Society. She currently serves as treasurer of FBLA and was selected as a delegate to Girls State. Mooney is active in her church youth group and in community activities with Wilburton Main Street. She enjoys being a lifeguard, reading, hanging with her friends and helping children. She plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma with a major in early childhood education. Josh Hunnicutt is the son of Robert and Candy Hunnicutt. He attends Wilburton High School where he is a member of the Digger marching band and the EOSC pep band. He currently serves as student council secretary-treasurer, president of the 2012 Upward Bound and won 2nd place in his division at the science fair. He has been an active member of the Boy Scouts serving as senior patrol leader and completing the requirements for an Eagle Scout. Hunnicutt is a member of and active in the youth group at Wilburton First Baptist Church. His hobbies include video games, sleeping, camping, fishing, and hunting. He plans to attend Eastern Oklahoma State College with a major in meat processing/food safety.
