McAlester Public Schools will have school tomorrow

McALESTER — McAlester Public Schools Superintendent Marsha Gore said McAlester Public Schools will be in session Monday.

Gore said although she read the city of McAlester offices will be closed, MPS will honor veterans starting Monday and throughout the Nov. 12 - Nov. 16 week.

The week of honors begin Monday with in-school recognitions of Veteran's Day and veteran's breakfasts will be held at the early childhood centers; Jefferson Early Childhood Center, Washington Early Childhood Center and William Gay Early Childhood Center.

Here are a few other things going on at MPS this week:

Monday - Board of Education meeting, 6:30 p.m., Old McAlester High School

Monday to Thursday - McAlester Junior High basketbal tournament

Thursday - All schools will have Thanksgiving dinner.
