McALESTER — The planning meeting for the 2012 Mac Town Skate Fest will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Youth Emergency Shelter, according to Stacy Williams, member of the Pittsburg County Local Service Coalition.
This will be the sixth year for the event and the sixth year the Pittsburg County Local Service Coalition has sponsored the event.
Each year the event hosts competitions and vendors.
It hosts Beat Box, Free Skate and a graffiti competitions divided into age divisions.
“There are so many teens and adults, including my kids and husband, that go to the skatepark,” Skate Park parent Jessica Basquez said. “I would love for the parents to get involved. There’s so much potential there.”
She said, “I will for sure be at the meeting. I’m trying to get everyone that skates at the park to go also...
