SILVER ALERT CANCELED

McALESTER — A silver alert that was issued by McAlester Police Department on the behalf of Virgil Rigsby, 69, of Wiburton on Wednesday has now been canceled.

Rigsby was found to be safe and sound in a homeless shelter in Oklahoma City, according to McAlester Police Department Det. Kevin Hearod.

Rigsby had been missing since Oct. 13 after being seen chartering a Greyhound bus in McAlester headed for Oklahoma City to stay with friends, Hearod said.
