NORMAN —
The indelible image from Oklahoma's 63-21 victory over Texas will likely be running back Damien Williams sprinting down the sidelines for a 95-yard touchdown and the block wide receiver Kenny Stills laid on Texas cornerback Quandre Diggs 40 yards down field.
"It was a lot of fun, " Stills said. "I was just in the right place at the right time."
OU's receivers were a force in the run game against the Longhorns. It's hard to get long runs without them being a factor.
OU enters Saturday's game against Kansas averaging 6.0 yards per carry. During head coach Bob Stoops' tenure, OU has never averaged more than 4.8 yards per carry. The last time the Sooners averaged over 5.9 was 1987.
"We have a lot of very good players and they're very unselfish right now. I think that bodes something special for this team," OU receivers coach Jay Norvell said. "When they can play that hard without the ball, that's what we're looking for. We just have to build on it now."
