Wanda June Buse, 81, of Wilburton, died Saturday, July 4, 2009, at her home.
The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester this evening from 6 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Willard Francis and the Rev. Kevin Fitsgerald officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Haywood under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Pallbearers include Jim Thornton, Kenneth Schiwart, John Hall, Larry Gean, Chad Botello and Wendell Settle.
Born Feb. 17, 1928, in Indianola, to Alvie and Elizabeth (Cathey) Yates, she grew up there and graduated from Indianola High School. She then married Lloyd Buse on March 15, 1947, in Sherman, Texas, and they lived in Haywood for 20 years.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1966 and in 1967 she moved to McAlester. She lived here until 1994 when she moved to Wilburton to be near her daughter. She had been a member of the Haywood Baptist Church until she moved to Wilburton at which time she became associated with the Calvary Baptist Church in Wilburton. She enjoyed reading, listening to gospel music and embroidery.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Hall, of Littleton, Colo., Ann and Larry Gean, of Wilburton; one son, Greg Buse, of Ellettsville, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Darren Hall, Jason Hall, Chad Botello, Meggan Settle, Chloe Buse, Sam Buse, Kandi Martin.
And, four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Botello, Mason Botello, Benaiah Settle, Blake Martin; one brother, Jerry Yates, of McAlester, and two sisters, Joan Harper, of Indianola, Janet Cox, of Madill
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Donald Buse; a grandson, Anthony Botello; her parents; grandparents, and a brother, Jimmy Yates.
