Kenneth Lewis Harmor, 82, of Canadian, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at a later date with burial in Red Oak Cemetery in Canadian. Arrangements are under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Born May 22, 1927, in Oklahoma City, to John and Verna (Ledford) Harmor, he grew up in Oklahoma City and attended school there.
He married Sara Joe Smith Aug. 18, 1945, in Oklahoma City. They left Oklahoma City and moved to California, where he worked as business manager of a small appliance store, an auto mechanic and as an electrician. He returned to Oklahoma City in 1972, where he worked as a dispatcher. In 1984, he settled in Pittsburg County at Sam’s Point near the town of Canadian and lived there the remainder of his life.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 60 years, currently with the Masonic Blue Lodge No. 1 in Eufaula. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include two brothers, Bill Harmor, of Rancho Mirage, Calif., Gerald Harmor, of Shelley, Idaho; a sister, Dee Carroll, of Tucson, Ariz.; two granddaughters and husbands, Paula and Eric Scott, of McAlester, Dawn and Devin Clark, of McAlester; a grandson and his wife, Albert Jr. and Kristy Harmor, of McAlester.
And, six great-grandchildren, Charles Dennis Jr., of Canadian, Christopher Dennis, of Newcastle, Matthew Dennis, of McAlester, Cody William Harmor, of McAlester, Drake Edward Harmor, of McAlester, Aurora Belle Harmor, of McAlester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Verna Harmor; his wife, Sara Joe Harmor; a son, Albert Lewis Harmor, and a great-grandson, Kenneth Allan Dennis.
