Silas Daniel Worley, 87, of Eufaula, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Apostolic Church in Longtown with Leon Wright and Melvin Gray officiating. Burial will be at Bower Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home of Eufaula.
Born April 20, 1922, in Ramhurst, Ga., he was the son of William Henry and Mary Lovene (Finley) Worley. He married Bobbie Jean Elders in January 1955 in Gaston, Ala. He worked as a welder for 40 years.
In 1992 he moved to Oklahoma. He married Anna Belle Conaway on May 11, 1993, at the Sandridge UPC Church in Enterprise.
He enjoyed playing and wrestling with his grandchildren. His hobbies included fishing and traveling.
He was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Longtown.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Belle, of the home; his sons, Harry Worley and wife, Shelby, Calhoun, Ga., Mike Worley, Calhoun, Ga., Glen Worley and wife, Betty, Fort Worth, Texas, Dennis Worley, of Eufaula, Jimmy Worley and wife, Sara, of Eufaula, Mark Worley, of Eufaula, and Philip Titus Worley, Alvarado, Texas.
Also, his daughter, Barbara Wilson and husband, Charlie, Fort Worth, Texas; his sister, Mary Williams, Whites, Ga.; 29 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kenneth Worley, in 2002; one daughter, Sandra Steiel; his brother, Arthur Lee Worley; his twin brother, Paul David Worley; his half-brothers, Howard T. Worley, Hershel Worley and Harley Worley, and his half-sisters, Mary Worley Finley, Pearl Worley and Nonnie Worley (Brock).
Pallbearers will be Henry Williams, Timmy Williams, Terry Winfred, L.D. Casey, David Painter and Richard Painter.
