Lois Hollingsworth
Lois Hollingsworth, 88, of Clayton, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Mitchell Manor in McAlester.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Church of Christ in Clayton with Randy Gray officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.
Born Sept. 2, 1921, in Seminole, she was the daughter of the late Marshal Lee and Sallie (Roberts) Marquis. She grew up near Seminole and attended school at Red Mound and Stother School. The rest of her life was spent in Clayton.
She married Buddie Hollingsworth on July 28, 1951, in Fort Smith, Ark. and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, rancher and, for a short time, a telephone operator. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an outdoors person and enjoyed her horses and cattle. She truly enjoyed garage sales.
She was a longtime member of Clayton Church of Christ, where she enjoyed fellowship with the church congregation and helping with church activities.
Survivors include son, Jerry and Charlene Morris, of Noble; daughter, Sonja (Morris) and Edward Crawley, of McAlester; nine grandchildren, Judy Robbins, Mark Smith, Jeannie Huffman, Richard Morris, Lois Christine Morris, Shea Morris, Shawn Morris, Dr. Chad Crawley and Davy Briggs; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, and three nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buddie Hollingsworth; daughter, Janice Smith; son, Dan Morris, and two brothers, Ralph Marquis and Bruce Marquis.
