Alice Taylor-Hogan
Alice Taylor-Hogan, 101, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, in McAlester.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Pryor Cemetery Chapel in Stuart with Kelly Benson officiating. Burial will be at Pryor Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
Born Feb. 24, 1928, in Stuart, she was the daughter of James M. and Ollie (Roller) Taylor.
She married A.M. “Lon” Taylor on Dec. 7, 1929, in Stuart. She lived in California in the 1940s, then returned, owning and operating a grocery store in Arpelar and then a café in Crowder before retiring.
After retiring she worked as a sales clerk at the Komar Outlet Store on Main Street in McAlester.
She was a member of the North Town Church of Christ.
Survivors include sister-in-law, Mildred Taylor, of McAlester; nephews, Haskell and Paula Taylor, of Stuart, Tommy Davis, of Florida, and James Taylor, of Florida; niece, Barbara Taylor, of Florida; great-nephews, Daryl Taylor and wife, Denise, of Stuart, B.radley Taylor and wife, Kendra, of McAlester, and Jared Taylor and wife, Gena, of Calvin; great-niece, Annette Bohnam and husband, Mark, of Krebs, and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ollie (Roller) Taylor; her husband, A.M. “Lon” Taylor; brothers, Emery Taylor, Albert “Bus” Taylor, and Haskell “Hack” Taylor; and sisters, Addie Taylor-Davis and Ora Taylor-Temple.
