James Bryan Eldredge

James Bryan Eldredge, 19, of Eufaula, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at North Fork Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Taylor and Dr. Bruce Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Bower Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory of Eufaula.

Born Sept. 16, 1990, in Dallas, he was the son of Joseph Bryan and Mary Catherine (Lyons) Eldredge. He grew up in Alma, Ark. and attended Alma High School through the 10th grade. While in Alma, he was a pole vaulter for the track team.

In 2007, he and his family moved to Oklahoma. He then attended McAlester High School where he participated on the wrestling team. He graduated from McAlester High School in 2009.

He was currently attending Oklahoma State University majoring in engineering.

He enjoyed playing the guitar, wake boarding and weight lifting.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester.

Survivors include his parents, Joe and Katie Eldredge, of the home; his sister, Melissa Catherine Eldredge, of the home; his paternal grandparents, Jim and Wanda Eldredge, Sherman, Texas; his great-grandparents, Bill and Juanita Atkinson, Denison, Texas.

Also, his uncles, Steve Eldredge and family, Allen, Texas, Ed Dunning and family, Rose Bud, Ark., Larry Lyons and family, Claremont, Fla., and Michael Dunning and family, Chandler, Ariz.; his aunt, Laura Campbell and family, Coquille, Ore., and numerous great-uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Evelyn Lyons.
